In the past ...
'BATTERING RAM' was a flemish metalband founded in 1983. The band did a few gigs in Belgium and the Netherlands en recorded 2 demotapes , 'Breaking Through The Main Gate' (1987) and 'Intruder' (1989). The sound was dominated by fast rhythms but also by recognizable melodies. In 1989 the band suddenly ceased to exist, without ever announcing this.
But the name lived on, in 2001 Greg Varsamis (Eat Metal Records) contacted founder E. Scheire. Two songs of the first demo were brought out on vinyl, limited to 500 copies. From the positive reactions we could make up that we were not forgotten.

Medio 2006 E. Scheire contacted co-founder and ex-drummer W. Baeyens. Together they decided to bring the band to life once again. They began to write the first compositions and started the search for new yet experienced musicians.
At the same time E. founded a second, more symphonic and 'female fronted'
metalband
'In Darkness I Dwell'.
Later in 2006 leadgitarist Juan Carlos Galdos joined the band, and the fist recordings of 'Atlantis: Remembrance Of A Lost Future' (a mini-CD containing 5 tracks) took place.
Battering Ram can be called 'Powermetal'. Still the emphasis remains on the melody of the vocals, and the music has a symphonic tune.
